Serving is Stupid
There are some people in this world who think Servers/Waitresses are stupid. I am not one of these people and neither am i stupid. Tonight was one of those nights were people demand stuff from you and are not even grateful when they recieve it. They yell at you and all you can do is smile and do what you can to make them happy. Meanwhile back in the kitchen away from the guests you rant and rave about how the stupid lady gave you a greasy because you tried to clear her plate while she was hovering it like an eagle.
I know this profession is all about giving the customer what they want but sometimes i would like to really tell them how rude they are being and tell them that i am not some dumb waitress and you should pay me more respect or you are not getting any dessert!
Some days i love my job but other days i just want to scream. It really depends on the people. However i am good at my job and i'm also very good at nodding and smiling. Both pays off in the end.

yeah baby !! I know what you mean... I had this "lady" in the other day with her hubby and 2 kids... I bulk billed the kids, she was a veteran, so she got it for free too...all she had to pay was $19 for the hubby !!! and she whinged and ranted and complained about the cost !!! They had taken up nearly an hour of the Doctors time ... I came so close to telling her what I really thought about it all.... but had to swallow it !!!! sometimes customer service stinks...and you think that's it, I've had enough crap and then a really nice person comes along who makes you remember why you like helping people......makes me stop myself a bit more when I'm getting crabby and taking it out on the poor sucker at the end of the line...
Oh man, I know exactly what you mean. I've been working as a server all summer and it has made me realize how much I need to finish my degree and get a real job. I'm counting down the days till I'm done working this summer and back at school.
tell her to shove it, then jump on a horse and ride into the sunset. hehe. sometimes you can tell them what you think in a nice way. like "step off bitch, or no apple pie for you!" hehe
keep it going.
Perhaps you should accidentally spill a drink on them? Or be overly nice - David had to tell a bride she was the most beautiful bride he had ever seen the other night....right in front of me...when clearly she was not! I mean seriously she had a giant bow on her arse...customer service is about serving the customer yes but it doesnt give anyone the right to treat you like shite...I say you pop on an African American voice and tell them.."You dont know who you messin' with" Then walk two steps and add..."fool"...always works nicely I think...Hope todays shift went better :)
